Celebration Essay

My mom means so much to me. Her maiden name is, Pety Portillo Zeatlow. I’ve known my mom for a little over fifteen years and will obviously know her for the rest of my life.
My mom has made a huge impact on my life because she has taught me how to deal with certain situations, such as friends, boyfriends, bad grades, etc. She’s also taught me manners, how to be polite, ABC’s, numbers, and some Spanish. Also how to be a lady, to do chores, to clean up after myself, and how I should treat other people.
My mother is such an amazing person. She’s cooks for me, sometimes does my dishes for me, helps me with homework, she’s very wise, and knows exactly how to make me laugh! Sometimes when her “jam” is on, she dances along with the beats of the music around the house like a weirdo.
Another quick thing I would like to add on how she makes me laugh is, she’s not a very good singer. In church when we’re singing a song, Dain and I laugh because she is way off key.
Also, my mother is known as the “Turkey Lady”. She works at Jennie-O Turkey Store and gets a ton of turkey products for a good price! As gifts to her friends or other people we know, she will bring a bag full of random turkey products. She always has Stephanie or me tag along to deliver the turkey items.
I know how stressful things can be for my mom, so I pray for her every night. I pray that we will buy our own home very soon, that I will be motivated to help around the house more, and that I would learn to appreciate more of the things that my mom does for me.
I love my mom so much. She is probably the most amazing woman I have ever met. Even when she makes me mad or asks me to do something I don’t want to do, I will always love her with all my little heart. My mom raised me to be the person I am today and I’m so thankful for that. I honestly could never ask for a better mom.
